Character Name: Reze
Character Canon: Chainsaw Man
Canon Point: Post Part 1 - after her assumed escape from Makima.
Age: 18
Crime: Lying to a friend.
Background: Here!
Personality: Raised to be a weapon and born without anything resembling a normal family, Reze has never known anything but how to be a tool, one that exists only for the sake of violence. In some bizarre world where the Soviet Union still exists, the most unlucky of children (the ones who don't belong to anyone) become like Reze: experimented on until they outrun their use or become useful. We see some examples of what these children go through by token of Chainsaw Man's own experiences - much like him, what Reze likely underwent was violent, a never-ending loop of pain and dehumanization with the sole purpose of harnessing the power of the same Devils that society so feared. The cost of this power isn't much at all in their eyes. Reze never being allowed to have a normal life was pocket change in the larger scope of international politics.
She knows how 'real people' live, what 'normal girls' are supposed to be like and imitates that. Her outward facade is very much that of an air headed teenage girl; one who is never in a bad mood, always fun, always smiling and trying very hard to be the girl of your dreams. If you pay attention or back her against a wall this act can veer into something that is a caricature, exaggerated by desperation. Her enthusiasm becomes a little too bright and her good humor gradually more uncanny.
When she allows her outward appearance to match what she's thinking, Reze is essentially every stereotype about cold Russian women. She's cruel and stern, to the point, and seems to have very little patience for naivete or optimism. After all, she's seen the worst of humanity, and has become gradually more removed from her own humanity- both because of her profession as a James Bond-esque Russian psyop, and because of the effect being merged with a devil can have on a human.
However, it's implied that this other, much colder extreme may also be something of an act as well - one used to keep others at a distance.
Other Devil Hybrids have been noted to become more violent, hedonistic or aggressive as they become more and more intertwined with whatever Devil inhabits their body (Denji a notable example of this). However Reze admits to not enjoying killing. It's not really delivered with any sort of moral outrage. It's more like resignation over her fate and an open dislike of the duties that come along with it.
Earnest affection or anyone genuinely caring about what happens to her are both hot commodities in her life. Ones she likely never experienced before meeting Denji. When Denji earnestly acknowledges the cruelty of her situation and offers to help her escape it, Reze responds with violence. She disregards his feelings and makes him feel little and stupid for having them.
Reze waits until she is nearly at the point of no return before she finally accepts his kindness. She decides to take Denji's offer to make a run for it. And when she does, it's clear how much fear and guilt have clouded so many of her decisions up until that point. Despite telling Denji she never cared about him or any of his experiences she turns around and pursues him, and in that way pursuing all of the things she said she'd given up on. She acknowledges finally, that Denji was the first person who'd made her feel understood, and the only person who could comprehend what it meant to be deprived of things promised to every other child in the world. Being able to experience that kinship and have even a chance of experiencing normalcy with someone who cared triumphed over every fear she had about trying to escape her fate.
It's clear that despite acting beyond her years and being a Weapon of Mass Destructionâ„¢, at the end of the day she's a child who has fears, hopes, wants and dreams. The world is still a big and scary place even when you're effectively immortal.

Because Reze is immortal and all of the Weapon Devils were freed of Makima's influence upon her "death" it is assumed she's out there somewhere, especially as other Weapon Devils return to the series.

Abilities:
- Bomb Devil form: The choker she wears is actually a grenade pin. When she pulls it free her head basically explodes. But in its place is a new head, one shaped like a missle. Her flesh and blood arms are replaced with what looks to be tendrils of metal and soot. When in this form she can create explosions at will; canon examples of this (and not limited to): launching off her arms as torpedos, being able to explode limbs at will in the form of close combat assault, or even just breaking off her finger tips and throwing them around like firecrackers.
- Augmented Strength: Reze is known as a hybrid, which is when a part of a weapon devil is implanted into a normal person (much like Denji). Hybrids have a remarkable amount of strength and dexterity even when human form. It's not a herculean amount of strength, but in human form Reze has shown herself fully capable of breaking limbs and necks with her bare hands and some very practiced force. In Devil form this strength, stamina and dexterity is even greater. As a reference point she could probably lift a sedan but not a semi-truck.
- Accelerated Healing: Hybrids heal much more quickly than humans but this healing can be sped up and heightened in effect by consuming blood. If she loses more blood in battle than she can consume she'll be unable to maintain her Devil form.
